What it does

Piano VFX started as a small personal project to make piano videos with visuals easier. The free Basic version has passed 100,000 downloads and 6 years later, Liquid is a new, heavily improved version, built on user feedback.

Fluid simulation

This was the most requested feature for a long time. Every note you play pushes the fluid already on screen out of the way, so it swirls and mixes.

4K rendering

Render in up to 4K, or up to 120 fps, with the full version. Works for YouTube (16:9) and for Shorts and TikTok (9:16).

Easy to use

The layout works like a video editor. Drop your MIDI, audio and video on the timeline and slide them until they line up.

You can change pretty much everything: tiles, keys, saber, particles, colors and background.

Custom particle system

A particle system written from scratch that runs on your graphics card. You can use up to 6 layers of particles, fluid particles and fluid fog. Particles can also follow a flow map.

3D mode

In 3D mode you can move and rotate the camera. This is useful if you filmed your piano at an angle and want the effects to line up with your video.

Piano VFX Basic

Basic was my first attempt at a piano visualizer, made in 2020 while I was still learning. Honestly, the interface is clunky and it's not very pleasant to use and it hasn't been updated in a long time. It's still free if you want to try it and it has a couple of things Liquid doesn't yet, like the LED controller and audio and MIDI recording.
